Week before exams!

Hello all :)
this week is the week before the exams... Eek! I have to get stuck in studying and send in projects and reports, as does everyone! But, the other years are in school until Thursday next week, while we are off at 12.30 on Tuesday, back in at 9.30 on wednesday for bowling ( yay! ) and then home at 1, and then we are off school on Thursday as we have no exams to come in for! We have five exams, Irish, English, maths, religion, and either French or Spanish. Spanish for my class; amina, and french for the other class, emmet. And.... It's only 12 days until Christmas! Yay! Can't wait :)

Home ec fashion show today!

Hello
well, today is the day that all the ty home ec teams have to model their outfits for the judges. Our group is twelvth so that isn't so bad, but I'm the model and so I'm very nervous! Our dress is a purple dress with broken CDs, tinsel and beads on it. We had to dye our outfit purple, which was fun :) other groups are doing other things, such as paper mâché .. And they all look great! Good luck to everyone today :)

Mini Company

Hello J
Well, this week, our magazines for Green Hero were published. On Tuesday, I was so excited; I couldn’t wait until we got the magazines! We had a rough draft which was just our magazine printed out normally, but this was more special J When the school bell rang to say that school was finished, I was ecstatic! We were going over to L.Y.’s house after school as that was where the printer was bringing them. He told us that they would be there at half four. True to his word, the magazines were delivered at 4.30pm sharp! We helped unload the heavy boxes of magazines from the back of his car and into the front room of L.Y.’s house. When he left, we opened the boxes, and there they were… all wrapped in groups of 50 and 100, our magazines! We were all jumping for joy at the sight of the magazines. While there, we sorted them into different amounts for the different schools, and also for our advertisers, the local library etc. When we left L.Y.’s, we were really happy with our work J

On Wednesday, L.Y., S.B., R.P., and P.P. went to the different schools in our area to distribute the magazines; Myself and J.McH. couldn’t go as we had a soccer match that day (which we lost 2-1, but we played our best J). The others distributed the magazines, and now already, the people we gave the magazines to are entering our competitions…. EXCITING J And now… onto issue two we go J

Midterm on the way! :)

Hello again :)
Midterm is on the way! yay! On wednesday of this week, we went to the moate theatre in naas :) It was a good experience and helped us to develop our mini company skills. This weeks talk in naas was mainly on marketing skills. We also heard of the other mini company ideas in our own school, A school in Clane and also a school in monastrevin. Some of the Ideas were very interesting and i think that they would go very well :) Now in our mini company, green hero, we are designing the magazine and writing articles forthe magazine. I feel that our mini company is going very well :)
Today in school, we had a relationship workshop from 9.40 until 1.20. It was very enjoyable and also very good as the speaker was very nice and open with us.
On tuesday in pastoral care, we did french manicures :) that was fun. PP did my nails.... THANK YOU!! :L:L I now know how to do my own nails that way, so that was a productive class :)
Well, ill talk to you all soon, im going abroad for mid term.... yay! :)

Water :)

Hey again. Today ill be writing about water!
Facts on water:
-Did you know that 72% of your body is made of water? That's a LOT of water!
-It takes up around 70% of the earths surface, that means about 3/10's of the earth is land.
-Water is a neutral liquid, with a Ph7 on the scale, meaning it is neither acidic or basic.
-More Fresh water is stored underground than on the earths surface!
-It is recommended to drink around 8 glasses of water a day
-Most liquids, eg. Coffee, Fanta, Coke, are almost completely made of water! They just have added colouring and flavour.
-Drinking too much water quickly can lead to water intoxication.
They are my facts on water!

hello :)
In school, we are doing our mini company project, Green Hero - http://greenheromag.blogspot.com/
At first, we got a letter stating from our principal that we can go ahead with the project if we raise 3/4 of the money needed for it by the 11th of october. And Guess what? After all our hard work and effort, We met our target! yay! Now the project is going full speed ahead! Our Project is an eco friendly magazine that raises awareness on 'green' issues for first to fourth class children in our local primary schools. Our first issue will be out around the end of november :) exciting :)
Also in recent events, myself and PP have finished our proposal for the young scientist and it is now been sent of to the young scientist. Hopefully we will get through! Wish us luck! :)

Geography project!

In Geography, we have started a project which involves us 'exploring' another country. I have picked two countries to 'explore'. My first Country is Tanzania (exciting). Tanzania has a population of 43,739,000, and Its a country in Africa! The Capital of Tanzania is Dodoma but the largest City is Dar Es Salaam. Tanzania is Home to Mount Kilimangaro! For More Information on Tanzania, Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanzania
The other country that I have chosen Is Azerbaijan. There are Cave Drawings In Azerbaijan From The late stone age showing that that was when they settled there first. Azerbaijan has a population of 9,047,000 People. There are three Mountain ranges in Azerbaijan, which take over 40% of its land! If you would like to know more about Azerbaijan, Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azerbaijan
This is just a little about my project and its still going strong!

Carlingford!!

September 13th and 14th were absolutely amazing! All of the t.y.s were up and ready to go for a very early 7am on the 13th, and were off then on the buses up to Carlingford in Louth. It was about 9am when we arrived, and then by about 10am we were off on our first activity! We did land courses in the morning; low ropes, water barrel, comunication breakdown and the Maze. they were all brilliant activities.
After Lunch That day, my group, which was half of the ty students, went canadian canoeing, while the other half of ty went kayaking. Canadian Canoeing was brilliant. We rowed from one side of the lake to the other. Once we reached the other side, we were aloud to jump off into the water. Eventually i jumped in, but once i hit the water, my shoe loosened and then fell off and sank... haha, ah well, at least it was an old shoe :) we then rowed back to the side that we started and went pier-jumping! I jumped off the highest pier and the lower pier. It was great :)
At 7pm then we went on a mountain hike. We went up a steep side in the mountain and then walked back to the centre where we were staying on a flat road. When we came back then, we had chinese (yum) and then went up to our rooms. I shared a room with 3 of my friends - R.P , K.W and L.Y. We had a great time sharing a room. We had to be in our rooms by 10.45, and once our heads hit the pillows at 11pm, we fell fast asleep after our exhausting yet terrific day :)
Our next and final day, September 14th, was another brilliant day! After Breakfast That day, my group were off to the highropes which consisted of a very large pole which you had to climb and stand on, the jacobs ladder which was a giant wobbly ladder that inbetween each step on the ladder, the gap was bigger and the final part which was kind of like an obstacle course in the air including a slanted log, then a straight log a little higher and then a tight rope above that again :) i tried them all! yay! We all had harnesses and helmets on in this activity. i enjoyed doing them all, it was amazing!
the next and final activity of our great trip was an orienteering course in the mountain, it went on for ages! we had to find 29 different letters:)
This whole trip was amazing :) I got on with lots of other girls in the year and had a great time! Thank you teachers! i would love to go back again one day :)

social development day :)

Monday 6th of September was brilliant  Class Amina had social development day in the library with Austin Dunne. We first did Introductions in the group. We had to get into pairs and talk to our pair. Once we had finished talking to our pair, we had to tell the class their: name

Were they are from

Their Hobbies

3 great achievements

Where they would see themselves in 10 years time

Their most embarrassing moment

During that day we all got to know each other better and also got to know ourselves better. We also found out our personality types. There were four types: blue (the observers), red (the directors), green (the moderators) and yellow (the entertainers). We found out our personality types by using coloured cards. Each card had things describing people. The most amount of cards of a certain colour was your personality type. My own personality type was red  I had a brilliant day that day…..  Next Stop…… CARLINGFORD! Yay! 
